It’s the time of year for saving money!
In conjunction with the Colorado Audio Society, Mile High Travel has announced their special tour package for audiophiles who plan to attend the 2014 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. A full fifty percent of the net profits from the tour will be donated to Colorado flood victims through Colorado’s United Way.
The special tour package is limited to 20 participants and begins on Wednesday, October 1, when participants will be picked up from Denver’s International Airport in the late afternoon and taken by private transport (Mile High has contracted with Old Jim’s tour bus service to provide all transportation during the tour) to Boulder, Colorado where they will visit Terrapin Station, one of Boulder premier recreational Marijuana shops before going to a prix-fixe dinner at Frasca, which is very highly rated in the latest Zagut’s guide. After dinner guests will visit PS Audio where Paul McGowan will provide personal tour of the PS Audio factory and lead a special listening session with the Infinity IRS Reference system in the PS Audio’s new sound room.
Wednesday night’s accommodations will give participants a taste of rustic Colorado at the Boulder Mountain Lodge. After a hearty mountain breakfast, participants will get a tour of Four Mile flood damage before visiting The Absolute Sound reviewer Steven Stone’s mountain sound room where they will have the opportunity to watch Stone prepare for the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest while listening to his Dunlavy Signature VI speaker system.
After lunch at another of Boulder fine eating establishments, participants will visit both Boulder high-end audio stores, Listen-Up, and Crescendo Fine Audio. After listening sessions at both shops the tour will stop at Terrapin Station once more before traveling to the Marriott Event Center at Denver’s South Tech Center, where the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest will be held, in time to catch dinner at the Ramada’s Cliffhanger restaurant. During the meal a running “who’s who” description of industry participants walking past the restaurant will be delivered by Michael Fremer.
After dinner participants will arrive in their rooms at the Marriot and begin trying out the special Mile High Vacation basket hand-picked for them by Mile High Tours. Friday morning will begin with a full breakfast at the hotel followed by optional two press conferences and VIP access to the show before opening.
During the show Mile High Tours will let tour participants enjoy the show with no pre-scheduled events to intrude on their personal scheduling. On Sunday Mile High will provide transportation back to DIA as well as a special sanitized suit of clothing so as to reduce the chances of lingering odors affecting the security checkpoints.
The basic cost of the tour sans meal charges will be $1,995, which includes airfare, hotel charges, and RMAF fees. All meals, gratuities, and consumables are extra. If your eyes were bigger than your lungs tour guides do accept more than one form of green energy for payment.
