It’s the time of year for saving money!
HD Tracks recently unveiled their new connection with Warner
Music. Warner’s sub-labels include Asylum, Atlantic,
Cordless, East West, Elektra, Nonesuch, Reprise, Rhino, Roadrunner, Rykodisc,
Sire, Warner Bros., Warner Music Nashville and Word. Currently they’re offering
such classics as The Eagles’ Hotel
California, Chicago’s Chicago II,
Jackson Browne’s Running on Empty,
Mile Davis’ Tutu, Carley Simon’s No Secrets, EmmyLou Harris’ Producer’s Cut, and Ry Cooder’s Buena Vista Social Club. These are all
offered in 96/24, and some, such as the Eagles and Jackson Browne, are also
available at 192/24 bit versions.
HD Tracks promises releases from Talking Heads, Foreigner,
Linda Ronstadt, R.E.M., Steely Dan, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper,
Doobie Brothers, Talking Heads, Natalie Merchant, Seal, Joni Mitchell,
Metallica, Hootie & the Blowfish in the very near future.
Personally I’d like to see some of the more obscure but classic
Warner Reprise catalog releases, such as Todd Rundgren’s Something/Anything or Randy Newman’s Something New Under the Sun. Obviously, with such a deep catalog to
choose from HD Tracks should have a treasure trove of new releases in the near
future.
I can’t wait.
Their music selection is good, but their customer service stinks. I downloaded Jackson Brown’s Running on Empty in May 2012 and it was faulty. They admitted it was a bad recording, but they never fixed it or offered to refund my purchase.
