Early OS 10.7 adopters beware. This morning my email brought
the following message from Sonos:
Important information for Sonos Mac users
Dear Valued Sonos Customer,
Our records show that you are a user of the Sonos Desktop Controller for Mac. As you may know, Apple has released an upgrade to its Mac OS X software, version 10.7 (Lion).
The new Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) release is not compatible with your current Sonos system if your Music Library is stored on your Mac.
We will have an update to your Sonos Desktop Controller for Mac very soon and will notify you when it is available. In the meantime, please stay with your current version of OS X.
If you have any questions please contact our Technical Support team at:
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
Sincerely,
The Sonos Quality Team
I have three Macs that "should" support the new OS, but I have no plans to update my main computer, a Mac Pro, for at least a month, or until I see that ALL my main applications won't be "broken" by the update.
You would be wise to follow suit...

I just received missive from Sonos:
Update: Sonos and Lion resolution coming soon
First things first. We'd like to apologize. We know that not being able to use your SonosĀ® system with Lion (Mac OS X 10.7) has been a real drag.
What's taking so long? Trust us, we're not happy either. The Sonos team has been working feverishly with the team at AppleĀ® for the last month, and we've had some challenges that delayed the fix. The good news is that we've worked with Apple to isolate the problem and we believe we have a fix. To make sure it's right, we're going to test it rigorously before releasing it to you.
The long and the short of it. We began beta testing earlier this week and if all goes well, we expect that you will be able to enjoy Sonos with Lion in the next two weeks. We promise to let you know the moment it's ready.
Thanks again for your patience.
Sincerely,
Andrew Schulert
